Mr. Eaves Sans Type Specimen Poster

In the first semester of my junior year in college, I took a Visual Design course. This was the first project we were tasked to complete. This assignment taught me all about the different personalities of typeface. Here’s my interpretation of the personality of Mr. Eaves Sans.

Mr Eaves Sans is the counterpart of Mrs. Eaves, which came before. Like a good couple, the two are different yet complimentary. Mrs. Eaves is a solid, basic serif font, with average thickness, whereas Mr. Eaves is thicker and tend to mostly operate without serifs attached to letters.

In my opinion, I believe Mr. Eaves to be the bolder, thicker, geometric version of Mrs. Eaves. Mr Eaves has the ability to be used in more modern contexts.

Due to this, I wanted to give the poster a more geometric and bold look, whilst also maintaining the sophisticated nature of the font. Mr. Eaves is a gentleman, after all.
